Electroacupuncture
What is electroacupuncture?
Electroacupuncture is a modern advancement of traditional acupuncture. In this method, the effects of the needles are enhanced by weak electrical currents. The electrical impulses stimulate the release of endorphins and other natural neurotransmitters, and promote local blood circulation as well as the regeneration of nerve tissue. The intensity is adjusted so that only a slight tingling sensation is felt.

Paralysis and numbness: «formication» (tingling) when the hands «fall asleep» at night, numbness in the extremities, stiff neck

A single electroacupuncture treatment usually costs between 120 and 156 francs. The exact costs depend on the duration of the treatment.

What are the possible side effects of electroacupuncture?
The treatment is safe and is often perceived as relaxing. Occasionally, slight redness or a brief muscle twitch may occur during the session. Other rare side effects include small bruises (hematomas) or temporary muscle soreness. Nerve injury is virtually impossible if the treatment is carried out by trained personnel due to the precise needle placement.
